Michael J. Helms, DPM
Doctor Helms has been delivering high quality foot and ankle care in the greater Indianapolis area since 1988. He completed his residency in 1988 at Mt Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and continues to learn the latest and best foot and ankle treatments by attending workshops and conferences each year.
Dr Helms specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all foot problems. Dr Helms is an avid runner and hiker. He has been running year round since the 1970’s and he has completed many full and half marathons. He has a special interest in treating running and sports medicine related problems. Further, he has extensive experience and expertise in the use of custom orthotic devices, the treatment of heel pain and in diabetic foot problems.
Dr Helms is married to Karen Mersereau, Managing Director at Oxford Financial Group, Ltd. Dr Helms and Ms. Mersereau have five adult children.
Shelly F. Bowers, DPM
Dr. Bowers is an Indianapolis native. She is an alumnus of Culver Military Academy Summer Program. She graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High School then went on to degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Indiana University in Bloomington. Dr. Bowers spent a year of graduate training at IUPUI before attending William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. She graduated from Medical School in 2003.
Following Medical School, she completed a three year surgical residency program at Ohio State University in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. While at Ohio State she completed special training in multiple areas including Trauma and Vascular surgery.
Dr. Bowers is a certified Wound Care specialist and particularly enjoys this aspect of her practice. She is also board-qualified in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery. Dr. Bowers is qualified to handle any problem that may occur in the foot and ankle including skin, bone and nerve disorders.
Dr. Bowers is happy to be back in the Hoosier state and spending time with her family in Indianapolis and Bloomington. She is an animal lover and currently owns one dog and three cats. Dr Bowers is also an avid traveler and loves to hit the road in her spare time.
Julian McNees-Lambert, DPM
Dr Julian McNees-Lambert is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. He did his undergraduate studies at New York University and the University of Alabama. Following a period of research work in Germany he attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr McNees-Lambert performed his podiatric surgical residency at Alliance Community Hospital in Ohio where he was chief resident during his final year of training.
Dr McNees-Lambert enjoys all aspects of podiatry and he is qualified to treat all disorders and diseases of the foot and ankle. He is excited to have made Indianapolis his new home. Dr McNees-Lambert has strong interests in historic preservation, horticulture and the visual and performing arts.
